Dominion Energy operates 11 facilities with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) ponds and landfills that are regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
On April 17, 2015, the EPA published the Hazardous and Solid Waste Management System; Disposal of Coal Combustion Residuals From Electric Utilities: Final Rule in the Federal Register.
This rule regulates the disposal of CCR in surface impoundments (ponds) and landfills as a solid waste under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). As directed, by 40 CFR 257.107, we maintain data and information to demonstrate compliance with the CCR rule on this publicly accessible internet site.
