“Y'all have helped us out more than you know,” said Jaime Willis, an Army veteran and founder of Canes for Veterans, a nonprofit organization through which Jaime supplies veterans with handmade wooden canes.

Recently, Dominion Energy employees working near Jaime, on the Army post in Fort Hood, Texas, cleared a large plot of land, donating the harvested wood straight to Jaime and his cause.

Now, that wood will be made into hundreds of canes, destined to help veterans from all over walk a little easier.

“We are just so grateful,” said Jaime.
