This project includes four components: 

  • Building four new substations within the Culpeper Tech Zone and a 230 kV transmission line to connect them to the electrical grid in the Town of Culpeper and Culpeper County.
  • Upgrading 0.7 miles of existing 115 kV transmission line in Fauquier County to 230 kV.
  • Upgrading 2.7 miles of existing 115 kV transmission line in Culpeper and Orange Counties to 230 kV.
  • Upgrading and relocating the existing Oak Green Substation to a parcel nearby its existing location.

On February 20, 2025, Dominion Energy filed an application to construct this project with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC). Please visit the legal page to review the submitted application.
