Project Overview

Dominion Energy plans to rebuild an existing 500 kilovolt (kV) electric transmission line between our Elmont and Chickahominy Substations. The structures along this 28-mile corridor have been in operation for more than five decades and will be rebuilt to maintain reliable electric service.

Community Meeting

You are invited to our community meeting to learn more about the Elmont-Chickahominy Electric Transmission Project. Our project team members will be in attendance to discuss routing options, answer your questions and review project plans.

  • 2025-2026 – Permitting, finalize engineering, pre-construction outreach
  • Fall 2026 – Anticipated construction start
  • Fall 2028 – Anticipated construction complete
